Hi, I'm Lynette — founder of Naughty Dog School, and the luckiest woman on this field.

I've been around dogs my whole life. My dad was a dog trainer, and I was training at his side from the time I was small — by eight I was competing, and I never really stopped.

 

My dad taught me a very important lesson that still runs through everything we do here: understand what makes an individual tick, and use it to bring out their best. He did it with me; I do it with the dogs.

More than twenty years as a professional trainer have taught me that my best teachers have always been the dogs themselves. One dog in particular — a boy the world had given up on — sent me searching for a kinder way, and that search became the game-based, choice-led training we use today. What do I love most? The phone calls. A worried owner rings me up convinced they've failed, and I get to tell them the truth: you haven't failed, your dog isn't naughty, and there is absolutely hope. Watching a struggling dog become the best version of themselves — and their family fall in love with them all over again — never, ever gets old.

When I'm not on the field, I'm usually with my own dogs… who remind me daily that I still have plenty to learn. 😄
